How to report a correction
Send corrections to support@depressionresource.org. Include the page URL, the sentence that needs to change, and, if possible, a current source for the correct information.
Please don't include medical history, symptoms, or other protected health information in email. Email isn't a secure channel and isn't monitored for clinical purposes.
How corrections are handled
- We acknowledge every correction request within 5 business days.
- We review the claim against current clinical sources.
- If a correction is needed, we update the page within 14 days of confirming the error.
- We add a "Corrections" note at the bottom of the page describing what changed and when. Corrections are dated and described, not silently rewritten.
What we correct quickly
Safety-related corrections are handled on a same-day or 24-hour target, ahead of the 14-day window. This includes:
- Anything that could affect safety, including crisis information, suicide risk language, or 988/911 references.
- Anything that misstates a guideline or a medication class in a way that could change a clinical decision.
- Anything that misnames a clinician, organization, or source in a way that could mislead a reader to the wrong resource.
What we don't change quietly
We don't silently rewrite a page after a major change. Major clinical updates are dated and noted. Reading what was on the page yesterday shouldn't feel different from reading what's on the page today, unless a guideline has actually moved.
Conflict of interest
If a correction comes from a party with a commercial interest in the topic, we say so when we publish the correction.
